WYF events with Ksenia Demyanenko
Events and impressions from the World Youth Festival, held in Sochi, are shared by the festival delegate Ksenia Demyanenko, associate professor of the Department of Costume Design and Textiles named after N.G. Mizonova.
According to Ksenia, the Festival shows Russia as it is – dynamic, powerful, strong, and the festival program is also striking in its scale. It includes everything: educational lectures and forums, scientific discussions, career trainings and creative master classes. In Sirius you can hear speeches by influential political figures, such as Sergei Lavrov and Dmitry Medvedev, scientists – Tatyana Chernigovskaya, famous actors – Sergei Bezrukov, Dmitry Dyuzhev, Milos Bikovich, Ekaterina Shpitsa, athletes – Roman Kostomarov, Ilya Averbukh, producers – Konstantin Bogomolov, writers – Alexander Tsypkin, designers – Denis Simachev. All events take place in the large student city of Sirius. Everyone can form their own educational program according to their interests.
As for Ksenia Demyanenko, she is immersed in the creative program of the Festival. Chairman of the Student Trade Union Committee and Head of the Center for the Development of Student Communities Alexander Gavrilov together with Student Office specialist Natalya Kartseva get acquainted with the practices of organizing various socially significant events. Students Irina Mosaleva, Yulia Kamerdina, Saveliy Belikov, Daria Mashinina, Daria Palilova, Olesya Telenkova, Sergey Saitov, Laura Petrosyan and Egor Spiridonov have chosen for themselves sports, educational, artistic and scientific festival sites. They are participating in various master classes. Volunteers provide invaluable assistance in holding events, without them many logistics and organizational processes would be difficult. Among the World Youth Festival volunteers there are students from our university – Maria Kabatova and Anastasia Shchanitsyna.
The Tavrida Art Cluster prepared a large creative program. Among its representatives there are also our people! They are teachers of the Department of Costume Design and Textiles named after. N.G. Mizonova Maxim Krylov and Alena Marycheva, who conduct art master classes. The rector of Ivanovo State Polytechnic University, Evgeny Rumyantsev, was also an honorary guest of the festival. Evgeniy Vladimirovich took part in a round table on the implementation of a project to build world-class campuses on the basis of Russian universities. The rector presented a report on the creation of the BIM Scientific and Educational Campus in Ivanovo, talked with colleagues, and noted successful global practices that can be adapted for our region.
Ksenia also added that the Ivanovo delegation at the Festival supervises participants from Cuba. Our delegation includes 49 young people aged from 14 to 35. Among them, 12 people are employees and students of Ivanovo State Polytechnic University. Initially, more than 500 young people competed for the right to go to the Festival, and they had to go through a fairly strict selection process. The festival will last until March 7 and will end with a grand celebration of the official closing of the World Youth Festival.
