Admission campaign – 2024: all the most important things for applicants

In 2024, Ivanovo Polytechnic University increased the number of budget places for engineering and IT training by a quarter.

A number of changes have also affected the Admission Rules for Bachelor's and master's degree programs, which are already posted on the university's website (to the applicant – For applicants to IVSPU).

Not only additional budget places, but also additional points for individual achievements can increase the chances of admission to a university. Their list has also been increased, and you can get additional points for a certificate with honors, volunteering, winning a prize in major sports competitions, Olympiads, intellectual and creative competitions at the All-Russian and international levels, for a TRP badge, for military service under conscription, contract or mobilization in the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation and for stay in volunteer formations during their military service. Of course, the children of participants in the special military operation will continue to use preferences for admission.

As a year earlier, graduates of colleges and technical schools will be able to enroll in IVSPU on internal entrance tests basis. However, the list of entrance tests is changing from this year, and creative entrance tests will be conducted only in full-time format. The changes will also affect the admission procedure for the master's degree. Applicants will need to go through three stages. First, present the results of their scientific and educational activities, achievements in sports or social work in the form of a portfolio. Next, write a motivated essay, then take a test.

As for quota admission: there are three types of quotas in effect in 2024. This is the target quota for applicants who have signed a contract on targeted training with an organization with state participation. According to a special quota, applicants with disabilities of groups I and II, orphans, and combat veterans will be able to enroll. The third quota is separate for those who are eligible for admission in accordance with Decree of the President of the Russian Federation No. 268 dated 05.09.22 "On additional measures to support families of military personnel and employees of certain federal government agencies."
