With Respect and Memory

On the eve of the Fatherland Heroes Day, the Ivanovo Polytechnic University hosted a regular meeting of the "I am Proud" club, where students studying the discipline "Fundamentals of Russian Statehood" met with our countrymen who showed courage and heroism in defending the Motherland.

But first, Dmitry Smirnov, head of the Department of Philosophy and Socio-Humanitarian Disciplines, recalled that the Day of Heroes of the Fatherland is celebrated in our country on December 9, told about the history of the state holiday, and then introduced the guests.

The meeting with the youth was attended by the knight of the Order of Courage, Chairman of the Council of Veterans of the National Guard Troops in the Ivanovo region Sergey Bolshakov and Chairman of the Presidium of the regional branch of the All-Russian public organization "Officers of Russia" in the Ivanovo region, master of sports in officer all-around Viktor Alyoshin. From their story, the students learned about the work to ensure public order and service in hot spots, as well as about the tasks of the public organization "Officers of Russia" and the charity foundation "We do not abandon our own" and examples of their activities.

In conclusion, students Mikhail Burkov, Salam Magomedov and Grigory Vedenov, under the guidance of the staff of the Sparta detachment, conducted a master class on hand-to-hand combat techniques. Everyone present could familiarize themselves with the technique of protection against attackers, as well as with the standard special equipment in service with special forces.
