Polytechnic scientists: about AI in the light industry
In the next issue of the Legprom Review, a professional magazine about technologies and growth points of the domestic light industry, an article by Alexey Matrokhin, Vice-rector of IVSPU, on the use of artificial intelligence in spinning was published.
Today, when only lazy people do not talk about artificial intelligence, the editorial board of the publication addressed a question to the Doctor of Technical Sciences, professor, head of the Department of Materials Science, Commodity Science, Standardization and Metrology to Alexey Matrokhin: is AI applicable in any form to technologies for the production of textile materials, for example, spinning?
In his response, Alexey Yurievich describes in detail the tasks that spinning production technologists have to solve, and draws attention to the disagreement between production solutions and the current level of development of AI technologies, which is demonstrated by domestic IT leaders - Yandex, Sber, Mail Group. All this, he believes, convinces of the necessity, prospects and technical feasibility of moving to a new level of management of such complex streaming production as yarn production. This is what the scientists of the Ivanovo Polytechnic University are doing. In particular, they have developed a computer program that is able to design the composition of fiber sorting with the required values of quantitative and qualitative characteristics, which means to ensure the quality of yarn and the stability of the technological process.
