Evgeny Rumyantsev: the labor market is starting to compete with the education system

The rector of the Polytechnic Evgeny Rumyantsev and the vice-rector for Educational Activities and educational work Alexey Matrokhin took part in the events of the VIII All-Russian Forum of Federal Educational and Methodological Associations (FUMO), held in St. Petersburg on November 27.

Representatives of the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation, the Institute for the Development of Vocational Education, the Labor Market, secondary vocational and higher educational institutions, members of federal educational and methodological associations became participants of the forum, which traditionally summarizes the results of the work of the FUMO for the year and forms plans and current tasks for the future.

Rector of IVSPU Evgeny Rumyantsev and Alexey Matrokhin, who combines the position of vice-rector with the duties of chairman of the FUMO SPO for an enlarged group of professions, specialties 29.00.00 Light industry technologies, took part in industry discussions and a number of expert sessions, which discussed design tools and new conceptual approaches to the development of educational programs and professional standards of SPO, as well as the possibilities of accelerated training personnel through the integration of secondary vocational and higher education programs and other relevant issues.

"In the conditions of the current unemployment rate, the labor market begins to compete with the education system for a person. And we can no longer afford long periods of study, closing in the "social safe" of the student. Therefore, the PDF system should effectively interact with the military, and vice versa," Evgeny Rumyantsev voiced his position.
