The Competence Center expands the boundaries of possibilities
On November 15, at the Competence Center for Textile and Light Industry, a meeting of Polytechnic students and teachers with the leaders of the “Assol” Center and one of the leading international trend agencies took place.
The well-known Russian company, which is a developer of CAD "Assol", intended for clothing designers and other light industry specialists, was represented by the Deputy General Director of the Center Karina Andreeva, instructor and curator of educational programs Ekaterina Borisova and Director of Development and Communications Irina Zemtsova. The French trend bureau with 60 years of experience in Europe, Carlin Creative Trend Bureau, was represented by the Head of its Russian Representative Office, Anastasia Kotova.
The visit was not unexpected. It was included in the work plan of the Textile and Light Industry Competence Center and aroused great interest among both young people and specialists. Anastasia Kotova shared her expert opinion on fashion trends with the audience. But, most importantly, thanks to her participation and the sponsorship of the CEO of the clothing company SovaLina Alena Soboleva, future designers, technologists, constructors, marketers and merchandise experts now have access to the Carlin training book, which contains predicted fashion trends and consumer preferences for two years ahead , which form a completely clear picture of the market.
And Karina Andreeva began her communication with students and their mentors by talking about the possibilities of CAD “Assol”, and how designers and clothing manufacturers work with this computer-aided design system. All this time, “Assol” Center has been improving its import-independent software products, which today are not inferior to world standards and are suitable for solving problems of both large sewing production and for ateliers or freelance designers. With the expansion of the Competence Center and the introduction of the Training and Production Complex, created under the federal project “Professionality”, with modular software systems that allow to develop patterns for models of any complexity quickly and accurately, the Polytechnic University has equipped all classrooms, as well as service areas for an automatic cutting and laying complex and in-line sewing production.
During a conversation with the rector of IVGPU Evgeny Rumyantsev, the parties agreed that the skill of working with CAD favorably distinguishes the CV of any young specialist and is especially valued among employers. “By the end of the year, we plan to launch another joint project, within which additional educational tracks will allow students to develop the skills and competencies they already have, as well as acquire new ones that are in demand from employers,” the head of Ivanovo Polytechnic summed up the meeting.
