The SMARTEX scientific forum started in Ivanovo
The XXVI International Scientific and Practical Forum SMARTEX began on October 4 with a seminar dedicated to the results of many years of work in the scientific field of a recognized specialist in the field of textile chemistry, head of an entire scientific field, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor Andrey Moryganov.
The seminar was held at the Institute of Solution Chemistry of the Russian Academy of Sciences with the participation of representatives of academic science and leading universities with a significant “textile” component. The event itself reflected the main theme of the current forum, which is designated as: “The role of scientific schools in the development of light industry” and reflects the desire of Russian scientists to build constructive relationships with industry businesses and concern for their scientific succession.
A clear confirmation of the connection between science and production was the Ivanovo scientific school in the field of chemistry of textile materials and technological processes for their improvement, which was led by Andrey Pavlovich Moryganov for many years. He has a long, interesting and eventful life behind him, and his achievements include the leadership of an entire scientific direction at the Institute of Solution Chemistry of the Russian Academy of Sciences, the post of vice-president of the Russian Union of Textile Chemists and Colorists, and the Russian Government Prize in the field of science and technology.
At Ivanovo Polytechnic University, Andrei Pavlovich is also well known and appreciated as a worthy successor to the dynasty of chemists, an authoritative specialist, a brilliant lecturer, a successful experimenter, who has done a lot in the fight against the industry’s dependence on raw materials. For a long time he headed the program committee of the SMARTEX forum, worked on one of the dissertation councils of the IVSPU and on the editorial board of the journal “Textile Industry Technology”. Under his leadership, dozens of dissertations were defended and many scientific articles were published. Many can call A.P. Moryganov as his Teacher.
It is symbolic that the forum began, to a certain extent, with the scientist’s report on the work done and plans for the future, and the traditional discussion in such cases was replaced by words of deepest gratitude and respect for everyday, painstaking work and worthy results. A well-deserved and natural assessment of the scientist’s work was the awarding of A.P. Moryganov with a high state award. Relatives and colleagues can be proud of him, and for young people in the Decade of Science and Technology announced by the Russian President, such people are worthy role models.
