Russian history will be studied in a new volume at universities
Associate Professors of the Department of Philosophy and Social and Humanitarian Disciplines Elena Scriabina and Inna Kuleshova took part in a lecture session for university teachers teaching a course on the history of Russia in non-historical specialties and directions.
Recall that starting from 2023, a compulsory subject "History of Russia" will be introduced in all specialties in Russian universities. The Ministry of Education and Science of Russia has approved an order on amendments to the federal state educational standards of higher education. On his own initiative, with the participation of the Russian Historical Society, the Russian Academy of Education and the Russian State University for the Humanities, university teachers had the opportunity to improve their qualifications and familiarize themselves with the Concept of Teaching Russian History for Non-historical Specialties and Areas of Training implemented in educational institutions of Higher Education adopted on February 15, 2023.
In the greeting to the participants of the session, the Chairman of the Russian Historical Society Sergey Naryshkin emphasized: "The introduction of this document marks a new stage in the development of domestic higher education. Never before has the history of Russia in non-core areas of training been taught to such an extent and with such scrupulous attention to the content aspects of the course."
In accordance with the program principles of the Concept, the Ivanovo Polytechnic University has already prepared a working program of the discipline for the new academic year that meets the requirements and content fixed there. The first year of students will study the history of Russia according to it, and a better understanding of this issue will be the result of the participation of teachers of our university in the lecture session and will serve as educational practice.
