The experience of Ivanovo Polytechnic University in Russian-Chinese cooperation

Professor Viktor Kuzmichev was awarded for his great contribution to the socio-cultural development of the People's Republic of China:

- The Memorial Bell of Hubei Province is familiar,
- commemorative medal of the Government of the People's Republic of China,
- the Order of Friendship.

He took part in two state visits of Vladimir Putin to China and President Xi Jinping to Russia. His name is included in the book "Forever Together", dedicated to the Sino-Russian friendship (in this book the names of Russians who have made a significant contribution to the development of China).

Since the 1990s, close ties have been established between the Ivanovo Textile Academy and the Wuhan University of Science and Technology. Students and postgraduates in textile production technology and clothing design came, our teachers went to give one-time lectures.

The most effective cooperation began in 2002, when Professor V. Kuzmichev, head of the KSHI Department, was sent to Wuhan for a long time. The purpose of the new collaboration was to qualitatively change education in the field of fashion design, namely:

- revision of the content of bachelor's degree programs;

- opening of a master's degree program for Chinese and foreign students;

- the entry of Chinese designers into the Russian space;

- training of highly qualified personnel for Wuhan.

Now there is a master's degree program in Wuhan with teaching in English, in which students from India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Russia and other countries are currently studying.

Chinese designers have repeatedly participated in Russian competitions (Russian silhouette, Ivanovo – Moscow, "Provincial Style", Voronezh) and won prizes.

A textbook on designing clothes in Chinese was published.

An Intangible Cultural Heritage Center dedicated to embroidery has been opened in Wuhan, which is headed by Ye Hongguan, a graduate of the master's and postgraduate studies of our university.

10 graduate students who are now working in different universities in China have completed their postgraduate studies at the KSHI department. Chinese graduate student Chen Chen was recognized as the best Chinese graduate student among Chinese who studied at universities in Russia (2012).

Wuhan Textile University has become one of the best universities in China in the field of design.

The apotheosis of this activity was the renaming of Wuhan University of Science and Technology into Wuhan Textile University. Now Wuhan Textile University is the only university in China with the word "textile" in its name.

Professor V. Kuzmichev has been a member of the international jury of Chinese Fashion Weeks since 2004 and has published more than 20 articles about the work of Chinese designers in various magazines (Fashion Industry, International Textiles, PROfashion, Atelier), thanks to which the Russian design community has had the opportunity to learn the features of Chinese fashion design.

V. Kuzmichev was one of the first participants of the grandiose program "1000 scientists".
