The topic of industry education was discussed at Fashion Style Russia
The moderator of the discussion platform on the issues of industry education, held in the capital's “Crocus Expo” center of the International Fashion Style Russia Exhibition, was the Rector of IVSPU Evgeny Rumyantsev.
The organizers of Fashion Style Russia are the Russian Union of Textile and Light Industry (SOYUZLEGPROM), the Russian Union of Tanners and Shoemakers and Shoesstar. The event is an industry platform with a seasonal presentation of trends and novelties and is aimed at a community of professionals interested in sharing experience in the production, import, retail of light industry goods.
As Yevgeny Rumyantsev said in his blog, at Fashion Style Russia he informed the participants of the discussion about the steps that were taken last year by Ivanovo Polytechnic University and its partners to create new modern educational standards for vocational education. They have a modular principle, take into account the competencies that make human work intellectual and creative. One standard has already been approved, the other two are in the process.
Much attention was paid to the "Professionalism", the mechanisms of its work and tasks. Together with colleagues from the Kosygin Russian State University and SPBSUTD, we discussed a number of issues and came to the conclusion that it is necessary to continue working on changing the educational programs for training designers: the market requires them to have strong technological and design competencies. An interesting proposal was made to integrate Craft Houses in cities and towns with industry, so that children would be involved in "textile" professions as early as possible. And, of course, the development of the ecosystem of national design is impossible without the unification of all specialists of the fashion industry and light industry, able to form an industry policy of lobbying the interests of the industry.
