Participants of the project "International Dialogue" - against extremism.
On October 21, within the framework of the project "International Dialogue", implemented with the support of Rosmolodezh, an Interuniversity conference dedicated to the problems of extremism was held at the Polytechnic University.
The conference was attended by students of universities of the Ivanovo region, including children from Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan, who were addressed by the Vice-rector of Educational Activities and educational work of IVSPU Alexey Matrokhin, Chairman of the Committee of Youth Policy, Physical Culture and Sports of the Administration of Ivanovo Igor Baranov, director of the Ivanovo House of Nationalities Nikolai Karika and his deputy Boris Murvanidze, Yuri Kruglikov, an employee of the Center for Countering Terrorism and Extremism of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the Ivanovo region.
The conference participants presented the results of a sociological study to determine the level of tolerance among the youth of the universities of the city Ivanovo and a calendar of citywide events to counter extremism and terrorism. Anna Belikova, a student of IVSPU, made a report on the culture of interethnic communication as a factor in countering the ideology of extremism and terrorism. Terror has no nationality – this is how Perizat Omurova from the medical academy designated the title of her speech. She was echoed by her fellow students, also future doctors - Umidjon Nurmatov, who believes that terrorism is a threat to society, and Zhakhongir Kakhkharov, who made a report on the prevention of terrorism and extremism in educational institutions. Maria Pipchenko, Mikhail Surkov and Ilya Ganin also were the speakers from the Polytechnic University. Olga Baranova, Artem Nizov and Anastasia Manashova were the speakers from the Russian Academy of National Economy and Public Administration under the President of the Russian Federation
All the speakers spoke about the need for preventive actions against extremism and terrorism especially in modern conditions and threats faced by Russia and the countries that support it. In conclusion, the participants and guests of the conference honored the memory of all those killed in various terrorist attacks with a minute of silence.
