Department of KSHI: the tenth defense of the Chinese applicant

On June 28, a meeting of the dissertation Council D212.355.02 was held, at which the dissertation of the Chinese applicant from Xinzhou was defended.

Wu Xinzhou presented the work "Improving the technology of designing women's diving suits". The scientific supervisor is Professor, Doctor of Technical Sciences Viktor Kuzmichev.

The topic was chosen by Chinese young scientists not by chance. Wetsuits are a promising type of clothing for swimming enthusiasts in swimming pools and open reservoirs, but reliable scientific and technological data and proven techniques are still insufficient for their design. Therefore, along with field experiments, digital technologies were widely used in the work, and many situations that may arise underwater were simulated in virtual reality. The pilot tests of the new wetsuits were held in the diving center of Wuhan, from where the applicant came.

The official opponents - Doctors of Sciences Irina Cherunova (Shakhty, Rostov region) and Varvara Getmantseva (Moscow), noted the important and high significance for science and practice of the results obtained by the applicant. The Dissertation Council unanimously awarded Wu Xinzhou the degree of Candidate of Technical Sciences in the scientific specialty 05.19.04 - Sewing technology.

It should be noted that Wu Xinzhou became the tenth Chinese graduate student (!) who successfully completed postgraduate studies in the Department of Sewing Products Design under the supervision of Professor V.E. Kuzmichev. She will work at Wuhan Textile University, a long-time partner of Ivanovo Polytechnic University.
