51st graduation of fashion designers
On June 22nd, Ivanovo Polytechnic University output another group of fashion designers for the 51sttime. In the Year of the Peoples of RussiaCultural Heritage, the words culture, startup, innovation, digital technologies have become the key words and symbols of this year's edition.
Twelve graduates, including masters, who completed their studies under the flagship program "Design and Production of Modern Clothing", compiled on the basis of advanced domestic and foreign experience, demonstrated their cultural and professional competencies in author's and industrial collections.
Women's clothing with elements of conscious fashion, corporate clothing, sportswear, special clothing and even wedding dresses have become objects of art and design development of students. The range of materials used in the collections was also wide: from the rare famous chintz and satin of the plant named after the worker Fyodor Zinoviev in the collection of Anna Shishkina to innovative fabrics with a membrane coating of the Mercury group of companies in the collection of Natalia Bravaya.
The second feature of the issue was the 200thanniversary of the great Russian playwright Alexander Nikolayevich Ostrovsky, whose life and work are closely connected with our region, namely with Kineshma. The literary heritage of the great playwright does not lose its relevance, and the department has found new forms of preparation of theses in a joint project with the State Museum of Local History named after D.G. Burylin and the Ivanovo Regional Theater for Young Spectators. The costume complexes for the actors of the plays "Profitable Place", "Balzaminov's Marriage" and "Forest" were developed by Anna Kitaeva and Evgenia Mokretsova. Members of the SEC and numerous spectators saw excerpts from these performances performed by talented actors of the Youth Theater (artistic director - Honored Worker of Culture of the Russian Federation Valery Maslov).
It is worth noting that the fashion show of models was traditionally excellently conducted by ArtPlay and Elita modeling agencies, and each graduation project, in addition to real clothing models, included virtual twins of historical costumes or fashionable bows created by students, which significantly shortens the path from a design idea to production.
Eight theses have implementation certificates. Theatrical costumes will come to life in the productions of the Youth Theater. As part of the Diploma as a Startup project, industrial partners will start replicating student developments: Natalya Bravaya will donate her collection to the Mercury group of companies, Victoria Pavlinova to Hot Story (TM ZOZH), Yulia Saprykina to Bisser State Unitary Enterprise, Valeria Kogut to LLC Detline”, Natalia Kurysheva – LLC “Wedding Room”. Sabina Abilova, who has developed a collection for her own brand Allo, plans to exhibit her models on the NFT platform, and Maria Evrasova will present her project The Fine Line at the All-Russian Festival Ples on the Volga. Linen Palette. The models created by Anna Rumyantseva and Polina Streltsovaite will definitely find their consumers.
And this, as well as the fact that the Ivanovo region is the Russian center for the production of high-quality and competitive clothing from fabrics and knitwear, is largely the merit of those who have been training clothing designers for the domestic fashion industry for 51 years. We will pay tribute to Larisa Pavlovna Yudina (she recently turned 91!) and the entire staff of the department of designing garments of the Ivanovo Polytechnic University - the head of the department, Professor Viktor Kuzmichev, associate professors Albina Malinskaya, Marina Smirnova, Natalia Sakharova, Anastasia Kornilovich, Irina Zhukova and Marina Surikova, who prepared a new group of highly qualified specialists.
