KSHI Department - on the birthday of the Ivanovo Calico Museum
On June 10, on the eve of the Day of Textile and Light Industry Workers, the cultural community of the city celebrated the 35th anniversary of the establishment of the Ivanovo Calico Museum. The Department of Sewing Products Design of IVSPU also took part in the festive events.
The staff of the Museum, which has become the hallmark of the city and is part of the Ivanovo State Historical and Local History Museum named after D.G. Burylin, celebrated its birthday with two events at once: the opening of a unique exhibition "Stitch-embroidery: from craft to art" with unique samples of stitched products since 1929, and a large fashion show. The fashion show was made up of creative works by the famous collector Sergei Glebushkin (Moscow), students of the Department of the Ivanovo Polytechnic Institute, the strochevyshivalny enterprise "Istoki" and "Shuiskaya strochevyshivalny Factory", the famous reconstructor of clothing of the Russian North Natalia Denisova (Petrozavodsk), as well as world-famous fashion masters Vyacheslav Zaitsev and Irina Krutikova.
But, first of all, Eleonora Gorbunova, the former director of the Burylinsky Museum of Industry and Art, told about the fascinating history of the creation of the Calico Museum, and Galina Kareva, the head of its department, the Museum of Ivanovo Calico, thanked all the friends of the museum association for fruitful cooperation - production companies and folk crafts enterprises, Ivanovo Polytechnic and the modeling agency of the Business Woman Club, which is excellent organized a festive fashion show.
We should add that the Department of KSHI presented costume illustrations to the history of the city to numerous viewers, which allowed them to immerse themselves in the atmosphere of life first of the peasants of the village of Ivanovo, merchants, managers and industrialists of Voznesensk Posad, and then the proletarians of the Soviet Ivanovo-Voznesensk during the Civil war and the Stakhanov movement. For active participation in numerous cultural and educational events and creative projects of the Museum, such as "Living Lubok" or "Our Ostrovsky", the head of the department of the KSHI, Professor Viktor Kuzmichev was awarded the Gratitude of the director of the IGIKM named after D.G. Burylin Sergey Konorev.
