Summed up the results of project activities
From May 24th to May 26th, the Polytechnic University hosted the Project Festival, during which the results of the studentsproject activities in the second semester were summed up.
The results of their project work were presented by students of the Institute of Architecture, Construction and Transport, the Institute of Information Technologies, Natural Sciences and Humanities and the Institute of Textile Industry and Fashion. And the Festival itself was held as part of the Student Self-Government Development Program “Your Ideas – Your Life”, implemented with grant support from the Federal Agency for Youth Affairs (Rosmolodezh).
More than a hundred students took part in the event, twenty-eight projects were presented to the jury, made individually or in a team. Topics are the most diverse: projects of a residential building and a factory using BIM technologies, the creation of a self-managed house (“Multi-storey eco-house”), the improvement of public areas in the city of Ivanovo (the school lobby, the square and the reading room of the Central Universal Scientific Library), the transformation of the locations of our university (Laboratory "Smart House"), modernization of the drive of sewing machines and development of methodological support for the test center of the Department of Materials and Commodity Science, Standardization and Metrology, a collection of costume complexes for the performances of A.N. Ostrovsky to the 200th anniversary of the playwright, as well as a collection of fabrics for JSC "Shuisky calico".
The Teletandem project, which is being implemented jointly with Virginia Commonwealth University (USA) and aimed at improving the level of English proficiency and helping foreign partners in learning the Russian language, was once again presented. Students showed new implemented ideas that contributed to the development. And the results of research projects to study the effect of modifiers for road bitumen on its physical and mechanical properties and the development of functional materials based on nanosized oxide structures can now be recommended for use in road construction and for finishing textile materials.
The first-year students pleasantly surprised and pleased the jury, the former following the results of the discipline "Methodology of project activity", demonstrated projects on creating chat bots, advertising landing, software utilities for quickly creating enterprise websites, corporate style of the Polytechnic Project Office, branded sportswear, national building. The project "My house for five years" should also be noted. Its authors and participants are first-year foreign students who are just adapting to life at the university and suggested how to improve the hostel in which they live.
It is worth adding that previouslyproject sessions were held for the participants of the Festival, during which the students learned how to cope with the fear of speaking in front of an audience, how to competently prepare an effective presentation of the project and be ready to answerthe expertsquestions. And for a more objective assessment of the submitted projects, directors of other institutes, representatives of enterprises, research institutes and business communities, as well as youth activists of the university were invited to the expert commission.

“The Festival of Projects really becomes a Festival. It became interesting not only to the participants, but also to the listeners. I liked the presented projects, the questions of the jury members, which sometimes turned into a discussion. I liked the idea of involving students in the jury. And the role of the chairman of the Institute of Textile Industry and Fashion jury allowed me to find out what my colleagues from another institute are doing, what projects they are developing.”

Especially from Anna AndreevnaArbuzova, who told how to correctly present yourself and your project, how not to get confused and answer a difficult question, even if you don’t know the answer. These tips will help in further studies and in the defense of the diploma work.”
All participants will receive certificates of participation, authors whose works are recognized as the best - diplomas of I, II and III degrees, and Diaries of achievements of student participants will be replenished with additional points.
