TREND School: mastering the profession of a graphic designer
In the TREND School, which has become the hallmark of the Ivanovo Polytechnic University, students master the course of graphic design.
The program of additional education is implemented on the basis of the Department of Costume Design and Textiles named after N.G. Mizonova and aims to introduce students to the profession and areas of application of the skills of a graphic designer. “These are advertising, branding, packaging, printing, corporate styles and fonts, fashion design games. The profession is promising and in demand,” says the head of the department Olga Surikova and adds. “At the same time, this is one of the most difficult and interesting professions, and our course largely determines the path to it.”
We want to recall that the program started in November last year and will last until April. Together with the teacher of the School, associate professor of the Department of DCT named after N.G. Mizonova Alena Marycheva, the children have already mastered computer programs for vector and raster graphics Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator, various manual techniques for performing design projects, developed their own fonts and patterned brushes, invented computer game characters, learned what a monotype is and enthusiastically plunged into the intricacies of painting on fabrics, including denim. There are a lot of equally interesting topics and new master classes ahead, so that schoolchildren who have not yet decided which design direction to choose have the opportunity to try themselves in various guises.
