POLYTECHNIC University at an exhibition in Germany
One of the sections of the exhibition dedicated to the study of historical discoveries in different countries of the world, which opened in the German city of Bochum, presents a virtual solution for the reconstruction of clothes and accessories of an ancient man, made by scientists from the St. Petersburg State University of Industrial Technology and Design and the Ivanovo Polytechnic University.
The reconstruction of the clothes of the "salt" man No. 4 (this is the number of this artifact of material culture recorded in the world reports), found buried in a salt mine in northern Iran as a result of the collapse, were worked by the associate professors of St. Petersburg State University of Industrial Technology and Design. The work was carried out on the surviving fragments of clothing found, which, by the way, refers to 405-380 years BC. To reconstruct the costume of an ancient man, scientists had to reproduce the processes of spinning, dyeing and sewing clothes using computer graphics and CAD programs.
The work was carried out within the framework of a grant from the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation on the topic "Development of software for virtual design of static and dynamic systems" figure-clothes "and virtual fitting of clothes" FashionNet ".
