First-year students of the Polytechnic study the "Fundamentals of Russian statehood"
At the recently opened seminar, first-year students mastering the new discipline "Fundamentals of Russian Statehood" presented their views on the concept of "civilization" and the basics of the civilizational approach.
As a starting point for the discussion, Dmitry Smirnov, Head of the Department of Philosophy and Socio-Humanitarian Disciplines, suggested referring to the speech of Russian President Vladimir Putin at a meeting of the Valdai International Discussion Club, where he outlined his idea of a civilizational approach. Students of the DC-11 group Tatiana Lezhnevich, Ekaterina Andrianova, Maria Golubeva and Anastasia Ivakina developed the topic and reflected the conceptual diversity of the civilizational approach in their speeches.
The rector of IVSPU Evgeny Rumyantsev, who took part in the seminar, treated the student reports with great interest. The discussion that arose, in which the speakers answered the questions of Evgeny Rumyantsev, as well as associate professors of the FSGD Department Inna Kuleshova and Elena Scriabina, revealed issues that require further discussion. It was decided to establish a tradition and continue discussing topical theoretical and practical issues of the "Foundations of Russian Statehood" in the format of a regular seminar, which anyone can participate in.
