A meeting of the commission on the selection of improvement projects for small cities in the Ivanovo region was held in Ivanovo State Polytechnic University
On January 20, participants in a relevant interdepartmental commission headed by the Governor of the Ivanovo Region Stanislav Voskresensky examined the applications of the administrations of Vichuga, Furmanov, Puchezh and Gavrilov Posad for participation in the All-Russian contest of projects for creating a comfortable urban environment in small towns and historical settlements.
Based on the results of the meeting, the projects of Vichuga, Furmanov and Gavrilov Posad were approved by the commission as a whole and, taking into account the proposals made, should be sent to the federal commission no later than January 31. On the Puchezh project, the head of the region, as well as the society, had questions, therefore, this proposal was proposed to be modified.
According to the official website of the regional government, territorial development projects were created on the basis of a study of cultural and historical heritage, taking into account the existing buildings, as well as with the active participation of residents of these cities. The direct development of the projects was carried out by specialists of the newly created Center for Territorial Development of the Ivanovo Region, without the involvement of third-party architects.
During the meeting, the head of the region also recalled that the Ivanovo region had already attracted federal funds twice to transform small towns: in 2018, Yuryevets, Gavrilov Posad and Ples became the winners. In 2019, the grant was won by Kineshma, Teykovo, Shuya and Yuzha. “The task is to spend this money as efficiently as possible. To really create spaces that will transform our small cities and will make people want to live with us, to create, to generate employment, ”said Stanislav Voskresensky.
Summing up the meeting, the head of the region emphasized that, regardless of the results of the All-Russian contest, the improvement of small towns in the Ivanovo region will continue. So, this year there will be two competitions for the improvement of small towns, and the second will be held in June. “If some of our applications do not pass the commission, we can reload them, try to submit again,” suggested Stanislav Voskresensky. In addition, he recalled that in 2020 the priority project “Formation of a comfortable urban environment” will continue to operate, the region will try to attract extra budgetary sources. According to the governor, not a single city should be left without attention in implementing improvement programs.
